Who Am I

I am Xenia Bund — creative, endlessly curious, and always making something. From the time I was a little girl, my art-teacher mother and musician father nurtured my instinct to create and craft. Growing up with access to arts, crafts, and music schools shaped me in ways I will always be grateful for.

Later, the passion for working with my hands led me to study fashion design. There, I was lucky to find and learn the craftsmanship that gave birth to BUND.

The manual knitting machine changed everything. It opened up a world I hadn't imagined before, and I became completely obsessed: with the process, the texture, the possibilities — and the deeply sustainable nature of knitting itself.

Why Do I Create

I simply cannot imagine creating fashion any other way.

What drives me is the need to find real purpose in what I do. That need keeps me thriving, and it also keeps me hopeful — hopeful that the fashion industry can genuinely change for the better. It's what keeps me so deeply, passionately in love with my craft. There is a real and tangible shift happening in the way people think about what they wear. Let's lean into it together — and create and wear pieces that are more personal, more natural, and made to last.

What Do I Want to Create with My Work

My creations love the body. They don't want you to fit into them. They don't want you to change; they want to hug you, they want you to feel deeply comforted.

Fine knit makes it possible to create garments that are at once soft and light, slightly revealing, and undeniably sensual. It's exactly those edges and contradictions that give BUND its distinctive character — a style that resonates with many different bodies, in many different ways.

Comfort and beauty, together in one piece. That is the goal, always.

Who Do I Create For

Everyone. Every body, every occasion, every season.

Knitwear has long been tied to winter wardrobes — but it deserves so much more than that. With the right fibers and techniques, knit can be worn year-round, and it truly comes alive in warmer climates too.

A linen knit dress, for instance, could easily become your most-reached-for summer piece. Linen cools the body, dries quickly, and only gets better with wear. That's the kind of versatile, lasting wardrobe staple I love to create.

What Influences My Creative Thinking

It starts with my upbringing — with the belief, instilled in me early, that knowing how to craft, repair, and build things with your own hands is one of the most valuable skills a person can have.

During my studies, I fell in love with Japanese pattern cutting and its radical generosity toward the body — the idea that clothing should give space, not restrict it. The philosophy of ma in particular has never left me: the concept of negative space, of an emptiness that somehow creates presence. An absence that makes everything remaining more intentional, more precious.

Less is more, but intentionally so.

My yarn

Organic and recycled wool and cotton, and mohair. Most of it comes from Italy.
